Job Description
Applications are invited for a BBSRC-funded postdoctoral position in the Centre for Biological Sciences at the University of Southampton to work on the BBSRC-funded sLoLa project “Extending the Boundaries of Nucleic Acid Chemistry". The project will exploit click ligation which is new chemical method for joining nucleic acid strands to make large biologically active constructs. This methodology will be used to make DNA structural motifs containing chemical modifications that will be inserted into genomic DNA for the study of gene expression and epigenetics. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of Professor Keith Fox.
A PhD in a relevant area of Biochemistry or Cell Biology is a minimum requirement and previous experience in the nucleic acid field is desirable.
