Job Description

Research and Innovation Services (R&IS)

The University has recently launched a new initiative bringing together our leading edge researchers from different disciplines to address some of the key challenges faced by society, such as Climate Change, the Environment and our Ageing Population.  We now have 12 multidisciplinary University Strategic Research Groups (USRGs) working across our Faculties. 

R&IS wishes to appoint one individual to join a team of USRG coordinators to Support the Director of Multidisciplinary Research, and the Chairs of the various USRGs and UISTs, in driving forward the USRG initiative by taking responsibility for the administration and co-ordination of activities that will encourage and facilitate multi-disciplinary research and collaborations with partners in key industrial sectors identified by the University. This will include providing support in the preparation and management of research funding bids and promoting the successes of the USRGs both internally and externally. 

You will have excellent communication skills, be well-organised with the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a virtual team. You will be a self-starter and enjoy the challenge of making things happen in a fast-moving environment.  You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have strong office experience in a customer-focused environment and be a competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience of developing websites is desirable but not essential.
