Job Description
Chair - Work Futures in the Digital Economy
The Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the University of Southampton is seeking to appoint an outstanding scholar to this innovative new interdisciplinary Chair, as part of a strategic initiative to extend our cross-disciplinary research on work, the workforce and workplaces in the digital economy.
This post builds on the success of our Work Futures Research Centre http://www.southampton.ac.uk/wfrc and Digital Economy Research Group www.multidisciplinary.soton.ac.uk/groups/digital-economy/#about. This post will be based in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences www.soton.ac.uk/faculties/faculty_social_human_sciences.html
The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of funded research and publication in this field and of strategic leadership in developing collaborative cross-disciplinary research teams. Applicants may be drawn from a range of disciplines, including Sociology, Social Policy, Education, Economics, Geography, Politics and Informatics. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively across these disciplinary boundaries and with colleagues in other disciplines in the University, including Computer Science, Health Sciences, and Business and Law.
