Job Description
Postdoctoral Research Fellowship - Mathematical Physics
Full Time Fixed Term Two Year Contract
Applications are invited for a Research Fellowship in Mathematical Physics to start on 1st October 2012, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position will involve undertaking research at the interface between Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, within the remit of the new Southampton Theory Astronomy and Gravity (STAG) research centre focussing on the interaction between gravity and high energy physics as part of the research the group of Professor Kostas Skenderis and Dr Marika Taylor. The successful applicant will have a track record of research in high energy theoretical physics, string theory and holography or other related area, and will contribute to the development of the research group.
The post holder will undertake some teaching in the mathematics undergraduate programme and, where appropriate, will be encouraged to take part in joint supervision of graduate research students.
