Job Description

The University of Southampton is home to the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC), established in 2008. NETSCC manages evaluation research programmes and other research on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).We are dedicated to ensuring that high quality research information on the costs, effectiveness and broader impact of health technologies is produced in the most effective way for those who use, manage and provide care in the NHS.

The External Relations directorate develops and manages external relationships on behalf of the NIHR research programmes managed by NETSCC.  It delivers a number of externally-facing functions, including communications, topic identification and public involvement, in addition to managing discrete strategic projects and core research management functions.  

Working within the External Relations Directorate you will support the Senior Programme Manager and Programme Manager within the communications team to both strengthen the relationships with the NIHR research programmes and raise its profile with partners in the NHS and research community.

You should be qualified to at least A-Level or equivalent and have excellent organising and IT skills, including knowledge of specialist software packages. You should have a creative and innovative approach to work and enjoy working collaboratively within a small, close-knit team.  Previous experience of working in a communications, publishing, PR or marketing role is essential.

There are x2 positions available. Each position will be offered as a fixed term contract of 6 years.
