Job Description
Cancer, Palliative and End of Life Care Research Group, Faculty of Health Sciences
Hours full time (part time will be considered)
Fixed term until April 2013
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Research Assistant/ Research Fellow on a quantitative research study funded by Breast Cancer Campaign to investigate the natural history of joint aches, pains and stiffness in early breast cancer. This cohort study will establish the natural history and the impact on quality of life of these symptoms and how the natural history differs between women who receive different adjuvant treatments. This study has commenced recruiting 500 women with breast cancer who will complete a questionnaire on five occasions over 2 years.
You will be required to take day to day responsibility for the running of the study. You will have relevant post graduate experience and ideally a PhD in nursing or social sciences. You will have experience of quantitative research including data analysis and report and paper writing. Experience of working with people with cancer would be an advantage.
