Job Description

Research Fellow in experimental Aerocoustics Aerofoil - Turbulence Interaction Applications are invited for the position of Research Fellow in Experimental Aeroacoustics to be based in the ISVR’s Fluid Dynamics & Acoustics Group in the Faculty of Engineering & the Environment. The work is part of an EPSRC funded research project (EP/J007633/1) on the reduction of aerofoil-turbulence broadband interaction noise through the use of aerofoil leading-edge serrations. The post on experimental aeroacoustics is for 24 months and will chiefly involve making high class noise and aerodynamic measurements in the ISVR’s world-class anechoic open jet wind tunnel, and analysing and interpreting the data. The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in experimental aeroacoustics or closely related discipline. Experience in hot wire turbulence measurements and data analysis is highly desirable.
